We are in the final month of pregnancy here - although I feel like I have been telling myself that for a while now. Here are some of my Pregnancy Un-Favorites:
- The "nose spread" is now happening. I have been waking up the last couple of weeks to quickly check the mirror for its arrival...and it is officially here - much to my disappointment. My nose spreads to super grandpa size in the last month of pregnancy always. My kid's will never recognize me when they look back at their birth pictures..."Who is that lady with the gigantic nose holding me?"
- I lose my breath simply from getting ready for bed. When I lie down, I feel like I am panting and need to sit up for a while to catch my breath. Nothing better than a few extra pounds to make you a heavy breather and the sinus issues that I have held on to now for 2 months and make my nose completely void of function.
- You may have seen the commercials for RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) and although I occasionally have it when I am not pregnant, it is a guarantee when I am pregnant. It occurs in the evening and makes me SO uncomfortable, especially if I want to just sit back and kick up my swollen feet.
- I had to stop running two weeks ago because my knees were taking a beating. My bad knee ached for a whole day after each run. So I guess I should spare the knees since I will have those longer than these extra 30 pounds - right?! Walking just doesn't seem to do much for me and generates very little sweat.
- My patience and tolerance levels are relatively low at this time and unfortunately allow me to voice my opposition about certain things. I have sent in a few customer complaints lately - I tell you, you don't want to do wrong to a pregnant lady. No mercy!
- Not to mention the normal discomfort that comes with acrobat moves in the womb and karate moves to the ribcage, the pleasant heartburn with anything remotely tasty (although I have some good drugs on my side), and the large belly that will not allow any more "sucking in" to slip past anything or anyone. It is not going to budge. No more hiding out, there is definitely a giant belly there.
Hopefully these cheerful words have not deterred anyone from thinking of having a child. I do plan to post the joys that come when baby arrives and quickly make you forget the rotten last month of pregnancy. Oh, if only I can forget really soon!
