Ya - so it's been a while. Blogging was buried on the bottom of the list of things to do - sorry about that. It's taken all month to get something posted. Shouldn't this be a pleasure instead of another thing to check off?? Anyway, things have just flown by.
Here is what we have been up to:
- Brad is now officially disabled. He has a stress fracture in his left heel and after many months of treating the wrong "condition", he is now in a boot walker for 4 weeks after limping around for 6 months. Odd thing is he is perfectly capable of going to work each day; but as soon as he gets home, he is a complete invalid-unable to move around without crutches, can only sit in the recliner, and plays the "I'm broken" card at every opportunity. Good fun! Reminds me of an episode on "Parks and Rec"... can't wait to find out whats inside his cast.
- We went to Seaside, Oregon for Spring Break. Good times! Our good friends, Vernon and Lisa, came up a day later and we had such a good, yet windy, time. The best part was riding in the bicycle trolley car. Of course, the pictures I took have magically disappeared leaving a big pit in my stomach. But Lisa gave us some of their shots.
- Hosted the 3rd (or 4th -who's counting) Easter egg family dinner and egg hunt at our mansion. We had Cafe Rio Salads with enough lettuce to feed the 5000. Although the rain tried to spoil our fun, we had a good time and ate well. What could be better!
- Had some fun helping decorate/host several events that my friends were in charge of. I love not being in charge - so much funner. There was a Preist and Laurel Ball, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, Activity Day Girls Craft & Mother's Day Brunch, Fiesta Ward Party, etc. I stayed really busy but carried no stress since I wasn't in charge of hardly any of it. That makes it so nice. Here are a few picts from the Priest and Laurel ball - it looked awesome. Bonnie is incredible. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the other events - but they all turned out fantastic. I am happy to stay busy, maybe that is how I keep my sanity. **Brad needs a plug here: he did a lot of extra babysitting and that was super great. No cleaning....but lots of babysitting.
- Brad rounded a milestone and turned 30 at the end of April. Although, he tried not to celebrate it - it turned out not to be so horrific after all.
- Made these invitations for the "Blast from the Past" Tea Party that Bonnie throws at the school as an AR reward. They turned out pretty cute and I spent a while self-teaching Photoshop from tutorials online (thanks to whomever has enough time in their lives to post them) and now really enjoy digital scrapbooking.
- Started playing softball again this season. Started off well with a home run (on errors - but who has to know that) but yet showed all lack of skills with a complete misread of a pop fly that was right to me. Not even close. Embarassing. Time to do some "at home" practicing in order to bring some pride back to the family name.
- As soon as the warm weather has hit, Brandt has been wearing winter gloves everywhere. Some superhero thing. Not allowed when picking out a piece of watermelon from the fruit salad bowl. Found that out the hard way.
- Kaden ended soccer and has come a long way (yet still has a long way to go). He is quite the singer and performer. I have no guidance in those areas. I am not sure that he is my child.
- Macey is walking short distances and has begun the "dumping" stage. What a giant mess maker!

Sorry for the lengthy post - I'd say "I'll do better" but I am pretty sure that would be a bold face lie. But ocassionally I do get on and read about how you are all doing - so thanks for your posts.

Enjoyed your post, Happy Birthday to the one-year-old! Let the good times roll. I love that age. Sorry to hear about Brad, I had no idea.
You really amaze me with what you are able to accomplish with three ACTIVE kids and a currently NON-ACTIVE husband! And then I just drop my kid off to add to your madness whenever I come to town! I'm a great sister! But, seriously, thanks!
Ha ha! You are so insane. I cannot believe all the stuff that you do for your ward, in addition to raising three kids. But I also know why you get asked to help, because you do such a great job. I am very happy to see a new post, been wondering what you've been up to. I loved your kids' Easter outfits, DARLING! Oh and I have that same skirt. It wrinkles like crazy. I've been thinking about emailing Downeast about it.
Your family photo is beautiful! I miss your pretty face, Wendy!
Oh how I miss my Wendy! I'll be there soon! Thanks for posting!
