A Baby Story

We had our little girl at 6:04pm yesterday. Here is a link to her picture from the hospital. (You'll have to copy/paste it - the site isn't working right.)

We entered the hospital at 7am and it took quite a while to get things started. She was not breech much to my relief but I was dialated to a 3 - so something was finally happening. I had a GREAT epidural that worked perfect throughout my day- long waiting game. Baby's heart rate started to drop during contractions after they broke my water so they had to slow everything up and watch that - taking all day. They were sure her cord must have been wrapped around her neck, but we found out later it wasn't. Pushing lasted less than 10 minutes (not as fast as Brandt unfortunately) and she arrived Sunnyside Up (just like Kaden was). So they said I should be even more grateful for my epidural. I certainly am! By the way I didn't tear this time and I had a little celebration for that which the doctor laughed about. I was impatient, as usual, but it all worked out quite well.

She weighed 7 lbs 12 ounces and surprised all the nurses (they thought she was going to be small). But she was short - 19 3/4" long. She's a cutey (I'm probably biased). We think she looks mostly like Brandt - she has his nose. Flared nostrils from their mother, sorry children. But Brandt's nose looks really cute now...

We are really trying to nail down the names and are trying out Macey Blair (or Macey Jean) and Taylor Jean today. I think she looks like one more than the other although I had been more sure that we'd use the opposite name before we had her. So we are going to let things settle. I love both names so I feel like I won't be disappointed. We have been just calling her "sister" which is probably a nickname that she'll always have.

We're crossing our fingers that we get released tonight. I just love my bed. Brad and baby slept well last night...but not me.

Thanks for all your inquiring and congratulations sent our way. We feel loved! And we love her!

"Sister" is so cute, I can't wait to see the little bug and I can't wait to call her by her actual name...I'm pretty impatient about these things. But I am very happy that you got a picture of her up so promptly. Congratulations Beus family!!

Yah, she's here!!! I'm so happy for your little family. Girls are fun! And I think we have the same taste in names because those were two on my list too. Can't go wrong with either one, love them both! Good luck with everything. Can't wait to see her at the next Beus party in Dale's backyard.

Congrats! My little sister, Stacey, still calls me "Sister" although we're both in our late 20's. And I love it. Enjoy your little girl.
